Exclamation Windows 7 RC with Sound Lag Problems (buffering)

Symptom:

Incoming streams sound fine but after some time they start to break-up then possibly stop completely. If you disconnect/reconnect the client you might hear all the streams play at once.

Please try this test to see if the streams are re-enabled:

Goto Vent setup and uncheck 'Enable Outgoing Voice Comms'
Then click the OK button

Do the streams start to playback?

Goto Vent setup and re-check 'Enable Outgoing Voice Comms'
Then click the OK button

You can also try switching to another channel then switching back

Please post here whether or not this test worked.

Also, if you could post the make of your soundcard, that would be REALLY useful...

That did not work for me. Tried unchecking, rechecking and switching channel, but sound still gone.

The soundcard tho is another case. Its an onboard "card" and Windows 7 only shows it as Realtek High Definition Audio and Realtek ALC889A codec, and I can't find anything else. I'll paste DxDiag if that helps.

Fen -

in vent setup/voice-binds-speech tabs, are the output/input devices set to realtek?
try testing with checking or unchecking 'use directsound'

It was on realtek without direct sound activated. Enabled it now, and now to try to screw it up again since I don't really know what triggers it :>

Still haven't managed to reproduce the bug after enabling direct sound. Quiet before the storm ?

It appears to be totally random to me. Sometimes it happens within 4 minutes, other times it goes for 30. (Will try running it in XP compatibility mode just to see if it makes a difference)
